Bacne is the slang term for back acne, this condition can be painful and cause scaring. Both men and women get back acne, however it is most severe in teenage boys and athletes. Back acne is sometimes referred to as athletic acne. Tight fitting cloths and athletic gear trap perspiration, allowing P. acne bacteria to proliferate. Steroids can also contribute to acne. Bacne can range from very mild to severe and treatment protocols are designed appropriately.
