Dermaplaning also known as epidermal leveling, microplaning or bladeing, is a gentle form of manual exfoliation. A surgical blade is used to gently scrape facial skin removing the outer most layers of dead skin cells as well as fine facial hair, leaving skin completely smooth and baby soft. Exfoliating the skin stimulates the production of new skin and allows for better absorption of topical skin products. Dermaplaning can be done as an independent treatment or used to enhance other treatments such as chemical peels.
Dermaplaning is completely painless in-fact most people say it feels good and there is absolutely no down time. Treatments only take about 30 minuets and regular blading treatments are scheduled about 3-4 weeks apart.
How does the hair grow back?
Despite popular belief, the hair does not grow back thicker. Fine facial hair is known as Vellous hair and when it is shaved, cut or removed it grows back the same way. If there is any dark, coarse facial hair present, I usually recommend laser hair removal. Dermaplaning can be used to remove coarse facial hair, but keep in mind that it will grow back the same way.
What if I have acne?
I don’t recommend dermaplaning for acne skin. Acne begins in the hair follicle and when the hair is removed it can aggravate or stimulate acne breakouts. Microdermabrasion is another form of manual exfoliation, and it is more appropriate for acne prone skin.

Don’t Be Scared!
Sexy Halloween costume’s are popular, but they don’t leave much to the imagination.
Our tricks and treats will make you “bootiful” before your Halloween Party.
Trick: Cellulite or belly bump.
Velashape is used to treat cellulite and for circumference reduction. There isn’t any down time so you can go out immediately post treatment. For best results a series of weekly treatments are needed, however even one treatment can offer improvement.
Trick: Scary Hairy
Waxing or Dermaplaneing
Laser hair removal is usually my first suggestion, however for a quick fix waxing or dermaplaning is your best bet. Waxing is quick and can be done almost anywhere on face or body, however waxing is not recommended if you are using isotretinoin or tretinoin.
For facial hair dermaplaning is my favorite option. Dermaplaning involves using a surgical blade to gently scrape the skin, to manually exfoliate dead skin and remove facial hair. Your skin is instantly smooth and your makeup will go on better than you ever imagined. You can go out immediately post treatment and look gorgeous.
Trick: Skin Laxity
ReFirme is a non-invasive Skin Tightening procedure, that is used to achieve a more youthful, toned and lifted appearance without enduring downtime. ReFirme is used to improve skin laxity, targeting those telltale signs of aging, including, jowl and neck laxity, sagginess under the eyes, saggy brow lines, and nasolabial folds. There isn’t any down time with ReFirme treatments, so you can have a treatment the same day as an event. A series of treatments are needed for best results, however even your first treatment offers a visual benefit.
Trick: Acne
An acne facial can offer some improvement, however keep in mind it is never a good idea to do a lot of extractions before an event. Extractions can be done on pustules and can help reduce inflammation.
Trick : Peeling, flaking skin and beyond.
Microdermabrasion and/ or Dermaplaning
Microdermabrasion is a form of manual exfoliation and is ideal for most skin types. Your treatment is customized to your specific needs. Exfoliation will slough of any flakey or peeling skin, and reduces the appearance of skin discolorations ” slightly”. Pigmentation will still be visible, but we are talking about a last minuet treatment, and you don’t get 100% correction over night. After a Microdermabrasion your skin is left smooth, hydrated and glowing.
Treat: Dead Sea Body Paraffin
This is an incredibly pampering, 90 minute- body wrap treatment. First dead sea salts infused in warm aromatic oil is rubbed over your body, exfoliating and removing dead skin. You are then wrapped in warm wet towels and the salt scrub is gently removed. After the salt glow, oils are massaged into the skin, and then a warm dead sea mud paraffin is painted over your entire body. The body is then wrapped in a cocoon to help seal in moisture. Finally, the the wrap and paraffin is peeled away, leaving your skin silky smooth. This is a salt glow, massage, and body wrap all in one.
Treat: Oxygen Treatment Facial
A uniquely designed system to cleanse, nourish and revitalize every skin cell through its revolutionary use of pure oxygen. It helps to reduce the effects of aging caused by the sun, exposure to pollutants and free radical damage. Vitamin rich oils are first massaged directly into the skin and then infused via pure oxygen into the skin again. This is excellent for dry, dehydrated skin as well as skin that is “hungover” from to much late night partying.
