Last summer I attended the Athletes International, Athletes Award banquet. One of the award recipients that evening was retired NFL player Kermit Alexander of the San Francisco 49ers. Kermit is known for his tackle that injured Gale Sayers of the Chicago Bears, however this story titled ” Kermit’s Song” that was featured on ESPN, shows another side. Kermit and his family were kind enough to share their story with us, and I want to pass the story on. The story lets us see sports, athletes and life’s opportunities in a new light. Life offers us many opportunities that we may ignore, this story made me more aware of the opportunities we all have and moved me to be to be more active in making a difference.
Opportunities do not come with their values stamped upon them.
