The editors of Food & Wine are identifying up and coming talent from around the country. They have feasted their way from coast to coast, seeking out 10 innovative chefs, each with a distinctive vision, creating exceptionally delicious food. They’ve bestowed upon these shining stars the title of Best New Chef. This year, the dining public has a say.
In each of the ten designated regions of the country, YOU may vote for the chef whose restaurant has most significantly stirred your soul and your palate. The winner of the The People’s Best New Chef 2011 will be the subject of a profile in the July issue of Food & Wine and will no doubt hold you in tremendous gratitude and esteem until the end of time.
If that isn’t exciting enough, Chef Chris Curtiss has also been nominated for the AZ Culinary Hall of fame. The 2011 Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame Awards recognize outstanding achievement in the culinary field and are honoring the best of the best. Voting for the Az Culinary Hall of Fame ends March 31st.

NOCA Restaurant in Phoenix is having a special event on Thursday July 29th- the next Guest Chef Dinner with James Beard Award winning Chef Robert McGrath of the newly opened Renegade Canteen, but Robert has been winning raves ever since he stepped into Phoenix. He started his career here cooking at Windows on the Green where he was nominated for the James Beard Award and …then the renowned Roaring Fork, where he won the award. He was also part of the legendary class of 1988 of Food and Wine Magazine’s “Best New Chefs” that included Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill), Daniel Boulud (Daniel), Johanne Killeen & George Germon (Al Forno), Hubert Keller (Fleur de Lys), and Thomas Keller (French Laundry). Suffice to say this guy can flat out cook… we will offer a 5 course tasting menu for $55 with wine pairings available for an additional $25…the menu is attached
